Arranging a referral:

We share your goal of delivering the very best patient care and client satisfaction. We will support and assist you by providing specialized services and compassionate care to resolve complex cases. We strive to see patients you have referred to us within 24 - 48 hours of the referral whenever possible.

• Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists operates as a referral facility during the hours of 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday.

• You or your client may call for an appointment with our specialist.

• Internal medicine consultations are available Monday through Thursday. We encourage morning appointments to give doctors and the staff ample time to perform patient procedures in the afternoon.

• If you have a critical patient that needs to be seen urgently by our internal medicine specialist, please call in order to arrange the appointment for your client.

• BEVS has doctors on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the absence of specialists or on weekends, critical patients will be seen immediately by our emergency veterinarians then transferred to a specialist at the first possible opportunity.

• At night, on weekends, and during holidays the emergency veterinarian on duty sees walk-in emergencies and cares for hospitalized patients in order to provide your clients with 24 hour a day health care for their pets.

Our doctors believe in working closely with you and being fully informed of any relevant information in order to optimally manage your referred patients’ care.

• Call our doctors to let them know the reason for the referral and to discuss the case with them.

• Fax results of diagnostic procedures or tests to (802)863-2348.
