Bryan Harnett, DVM

Medical Director
Dr. Bryan Harnett earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in 1995. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997.
After graduation, Dr. Harnett completed a one-year medical and surgical internship at The Bobst Hospital of the Animal Medical Center, NYC in 1998. Following the internship, he continued at The Bobst Hospital of the Animal Medical Center, NYC completing a comprehensive internal medicine residency in 2000.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Harnett is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is a member of the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Harnett has spent the last 7 years in his hometown of Kansas City as a staff internist at Mission MedVet (MMV). MMV is a large multi-specialty emergency critical care veterinary facility in KC. While his time there provided many great memories, an opportunity to move to Vermont could not be passed up. Dr. Harnett joined the Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists (BEVS) in the fall of 2007.
Tom Hecimovich, DVM
ECC Services Director
Dr. Tom Hecimovich graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine and Dartmouth College. Following graduation, Dr. Hecimovich worked at primary care veterinary practices in the area before joining the original emergency service, VES. He was with Veterinary Emergency Services (VES) since its inception in 1999. He now heads BEVS' Emergency department. He lives down by the river with his dog, Badger, and other pets.
Elise Forgues
Office Manager
Elise Forgues is a native of Vermont and has been in the veterinary business as technician and manager for the last 26 years. She originally served VES then BEVS as Payroll Manager. She joined BEVS as our office manager in the spring of 2007. She is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA). She shares home with her husband Roger and an assortment of spoiled animals.
Jowee Jiao-Harrington
Hospital Manager
Jowee Jiao-Harrington is a foreign veterinary graduate from the Philippines. She worked for 16 years as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at multi-specialty hospitals in California. Jowee moved to Vermont in 1998 and worked at specialty as well as full-service facilities. She joined BEVS in 2005 as a part-time ER tech, then took up the hospital management position in 2007. Jowee is a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), a member of the Vermont Veterinary Technicians Association (VVTA), Veterinary Hospital Managers Association(VHMA), Northern Vermont Veterinary Practice Managers Group (NVPMG), and state liaison for the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Association (VESPA). She shares home with her husband Sean, two sons, Joe and Dana, and their Abyssinian guinea pig, 'Lady Ayame'.
