Bryan Harnett, DVM

Medical Director
Dr. Bryan Harnett earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in 1995. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997.
After graduation, Dr. Harnett completed a one-year medical and surgical internship at The Bobst Hospital of the Animal Medical Center, NYC in 1998. Following the internship, he continued at The Bobst Hospital of the Animal Medical Center, NYC completing a comprehensive internal medicine residency in 2000.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Harnett is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He is a member of the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Harnett has spent the last 7 years in his hometown of Kansas City as a staff internist at Mission MedVet (MMV). MMV is a large multi-specialty emergency critical care veterinary facility in KC. While his time there provided many great memories, an opportunity to move to Vermont could not be passed up. Dr. Harnett joined the Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists (BEVS) in the fall of 2007.
Sarah Stone Hoy, DVM, MS
Ophthalmology
Dr. Sarah Hoy is a native Vermonter who was born in Burlington and raised in Essex Junction. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1997 from Virginia Tech. Following work on the Human Genome Project at The Institute for Genomic Research and ownership of a fly-fishing business in Montana, Dr. Hoy graduated from University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After completing a medical and surgical internship at Colorado State University in 2005, Dr. Hoy was accepted into The Ohio State University's comparative ophthalmology residency, which she completed in 2008.
Pending completion of her board exams in 2010, Dr. Hoy will become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO). She is a member of the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Hoy is excited to be back in the Green Mountain State and looks forward to offering the highest quality of compassionate ophthalmic care for your pets!

Tom Hecimovich, DVM
ECC Services Director
Dr. Tom Hecimovich graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine and Dartmouth College. Following graduation, Dr. Hecimovich worked at primary care veterinary practices in the area before joining the original emergency service, VES. He was with Veterinary Emergency Services (VES) since its inception in 1999. He now heads BEVS' Emergency department. He lives down by the river with his dog, Badger, and other pets.
Jodi Halpin, DVM
Dr. Jodi Halpin graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Following a year internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists, she moved to Vermont to work at Brown Animal Hospital. She joined the Burlington Emergency Veterinary Service as one of the full-time doctors in July, 2005. She lives in Essex Junction with her daughter, Avery, her new Greater Swiss puppy, Princess Fiona, and three cats; Xavier, Mowglie and Puddles. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, reading and knitting.
Hannah Flynn, VMD
Dr. Hannah Flynn is originally from Long Island but found her way to Vermont by attending Middlebury College, where she graduated in 1999. After two years as a ski bum in Colorado, she gave up the sweet life and attended the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2005. After completing a 1 year internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, she remained in Colorado as a full time emergency doctor at the Veterinary Referral Care Center. Hannah returned to Vermont in May of 2007 to join BEVS. Her professional interests include cardiology, surgery, and emergency medicine. She lives in Fayston with her two blue eyed mutts; Sierra and Sula. When not at work, she can usually be found playing outside; hiking, mountain biking, running, skiing, and gardening.
